  1. I don;t know if it is imagination but I always feel the engine is much quieter when an oil change service is done..not that the noise has ever been bad but could be I know it is fresh.. I have mostly been using full syn for about 5 years now..10w 30..or recently 5w 30..never really noticed any fuel improvement but on checking the mode button today i am at 12L per 100 so happy with that..however not a huge amount of distance driving last few months..last 4 oil changes have been using Nulon full syn 5w 30..and yes read the same thing about a lot of R&D by them Keep Safe KAA
  2. I agree with Tony about who looks after my car..I have used the same mechanic for 20 years now..would NEVER go to anyone else..Mostly because he knows me..knows what I like..knows my vehicles..always does the best job possible..always friendly both himself his wife and his mechanics..PLUS..in these mad times I would rather give him the work and keep his family business operating rather than a huge company who are all about turnover and money Support small local business in these sad and scary times they need us KAA
  3. Thanks Stephen for the info, As most Aurion owner will say yes you do nitce the power difference on the 98 and even 95 octane fuels, Personally I never run it on E10, I tend to use 91 90% of the time, and about once every 2-3 months use a tank full of 98 or 95 depending on the prices at the time..it is very clear when that is in the tank the boost it gives..I am not saying E10 is bad..as many use it all the time and the engine is designed to run on it well..I am just one who prefers to use a better grade of fuel if possible..Hopefully as the prices are down and if the nutjobs do the right thing about COVID we will all be able to get out on the black stuff and enjoy a good long run again..miss getting out with the my lady enjoying our wonderful country Keep Safe Keep Well KAA
  4. Glad i am not the only one taking a nice nap on this rainy Sunday..has been heavy rain all day here on the Central Coast..however this morning I did manage to get into the garage and clean the seats and leather trim in the Aurion..I am getting near the end of my Oakwood Kit and wife said she is going to spoil me with a new kit..I have used it for years on many cars and always find it brings up the leather beautifully..so I think I will stick with it..plus love the feel of nice soft clean leather ..always surprised how dirty the steering wheel gets..must be from the sweat of watching out for idiot drivers, and the ones like yesterday that take it for granted i will let them in when flying past me towards an oncoming 18 wheeler and diving in..fortunately i always allow for that and back off as they do their idiotic thing Keep Well All, Stay Safe Stay Smart KAA.
  5. So often wondered when seeing UNLOCKS HORSEPOWER statements..where do the horses hide before being unlocked LOL KAA
  6. LOL..ok well at least you sent and they replied, so now the buck is passed on too engineering..well never know they may do something..I always will complain when I feel something isn't right.. because unless you do nothing changes..so well done mate KAA
  7. Hmm so a filter company doesn't make a filter??? hmm so of all the vehicles they make filers for the 50 series aurion doesn't count..well we live and learn every day Yes would have been useful information to have had earlier but at least now we all know Thanks KAA
  8. Hi Arian, Personally I would look into a new head unit, i am sure you will find it is way cheaper and less time wasting than an unknown price from the manufacturer who will more than likely say it is way out of date being a 2010 model..I am guessing you can't get out right now in Victoria so maybe look online for the future when you can get out and about..do some research to find something you like and can afford and update your present unit..there are a lot that offer sat/nav as well as all your standard functions.. Keep us updated as to what you decide and how things progress mate Keep Safe down there KAA
  9. Damn Tony..what a lot of work for no outcome, I am sure they will refund..but yes if it doesn't fit the 50 series what does it fit??..and from the pic's it get's nowhere near clipping on the base..Let us know of any reply you get mate Keep Safe KAA
  10. Hi Ash, sounds like a great job you did, when you have time look forward to some Pic's Keep Safe Mate KAA
  11. Does look a first rate filter set mate..thanks for the pic's..and yes now to work out how it goes in and hope it is a fairly straightforward procedure I am sure youtube will have something useful as a guide Keep Well mate and Good Luck KAA
  12. I have always thought wagons a very practical vehicle, Had a Ford Laser wagon for a few years and enjoyed it very much, but as Tony stated the SUV craze has killed so many manufacturers to ditch sedans and just build bigger and wider SUV's..I am glad to see some car producers still allowing us a sedan package to look at rather than all just slamming us with SUV's Keep Safe All KAA
  13. Looking good Jayson..you have done a good job..just keep it nice and on the black stuff after all that work KAA
  14. Thanks Tony for the update..yes a good deal for the filter, yet again you get the order fingers busy on my hands LOL Keep Well Keep Safe Mate KAA
  15. Also read in Aurion/TRD thread there are a few article's from Campbeam about the P0420 issue as well KAA
  16. Hi Samiii, try the link below to see if that is of any help, it does suggest further checks to ensure it really is the 02 sensor https://www.700r4transmissionhq.com/p0420-toyota-aurion/#:~:text=The P0420 code in a,sensor (before the converter).&text=Service Engine Light– Often%2C this, the Toyota Aurion P0420 code. Good Luck KAA
  17. I heard the Queensland NSW border is open from the 10th July but expect long lines for the first few days.. Safe Travels KAA
  18. Hi Jayson, sounds good mate..have looked around at other grill sets but for now will leave mine Chrome till it gets that faded look..send us some Pic's on what you end up doing KAA
  19. Hi Jayson, I went with the partial debadging route, took off the Presara badge but left the Aurion badge also left the Aurion lettering on the side of the car as well ..for now anyway..also went with a full chrome grill without the Toyota Emblem on the front..so really it is up too you as too how far your debadging goes..a lot have gone the full removal of names and series and it does look good I just left the aurion badge to stop people thinking it was a Camry and having to correct them Keep Well KAA
  20. Yes Jayson many have promotions on right now..wheels look good so I agree with Ash..get some decent tyres on there, as they are all that is in contact with the black stuff..a lot of threads on tyres in the aurion link so read up as to what others have said about their tyre choices..personally i went with Michelin Primacy 4's..225/50/17 98V Found them excellent in wet and dry conditions and freeway noise is minimal..But as i said this was a personal choice.. In the end what you can afford is usually the main thing.. Keep Well KAA
  21. Welcome to the forum Steve..Yes your a busy man..have fun doing them up and stay safe KAA
  22. Welcome to the forum Greg and Virginia, As a retired nomad myself and married to a travel agent we also saw the world in our younger days.. Enjoy the forum as so many like minded folks on here Keep Well KAA
  23. Great news Dominic, will make a note of the procedure in case anything happens in the future..I always find the advantage of the AFS on a very dark night in a low ilight area useful..makes taking a corner so much easier and on a highway even better Keep Well and Thanks for the information I am sure others will also benefit and that is why we are here..for each other. KAA
  24. Same reply from me, did it work?..I have never had that issue with my Presara..I have replaced the battery and still had AFS working..so let us know if that procedure worked as it is a handy fix if it worked for you KAA
