  1. Why did you create a new thread for this? Use your existing one. Closed.
  2. Always replace the clutch as a kit. If you don't want a mainstream clutch, contact NPC or Direct Clutch. They make very good clutch kits and can cater to your needs.
  3. I don't know specifically, I never attempted to pull ours apart; however, here is some general advice: Keep in mind that Toyota got the lock in there in the first place. I doubt it will be glued together, so your best option would be to take to the old one with a plastic trim removal tool to avoid damaging the good one. Use it as a test mule. Start from the lower side if possible to avoid visible damage, if any.
  4. In all honesty, I think this may be the best option. Once you start getting the parts together, it will add up very quickly. Unfortunately it will be expensive either way, but unless you can afford a catastrophic failure on the side of the road, it may be the only option. As you said, it hasn't been looked after well, so there may be further damage that you are not aware of due to poor maintenance.
  5. By the looks of the pics the exhaust cam has shifted sideways into the valve cover and has it also marked the head? I would say the camshaft may require replacing or removal at minimum to repair. I would be very reluctant to reuse that valve cover as well.
  6. You forgot one. Mustangs can't leave a meet without crashing into the bystanders.
  7. Did you clean the engine bay? Did you go anywhere near or focus water towards the wheel speed sensors? If the car was running fine until you washed it, I doubt that it would be a coincidence that this started occurring afterwards.
  8. Judging by your replies, it would probably be for the best if you have a professional(auto electrician) complete the install for you.
  9. It's not discrimination, it's stereotyping; and all stereotypes start somewhere. I actually saw a Camry camping(I know others do it) in the right lane on Saturday..
  10. In the 2000's Toyota switched to all digital workshop manuals that are heavily copyrighted and download/share/print restricted, so it is quite a lot harder than it used to be to get your hands on one. The other quite expensive genuine option is: https://toyotamanuals.com.au/
  11. Try the New Hilux forums. I bought a Haynes manual, it was less than $30.
  12. I was referring to the one you put in.
  13. It's hard to say. Are you getting any power to the relay? Are you getting power in and out of the fog switch? If you have not done so already, you will need to trace back with a multimeter and make the appropriate connections.
  14. You could try, but don't be surprised if you get no result. Without seeing the leak, I can only assume that it is leaking from the flange(under the nut) where the output shaft passes through. If this is the case, then I would throw a new seal in and RTV(sealant) under the nut, also placing a small amount on the output shaft.
  15. I would check the earths are all connected and also check the resistance with a multimeter. This is easier said than done. The other thing to check which is much easier, is that the correct globes have been fitted. I have seen incorrect globes(eg. single filament in a dual filament socket) cause all sorts of issues in the past.
  16. I wish you luck. I have never seen this happen. Why is this other repair not covered under warranty? Also, please only create one topic per subject.
  17. Sounds like it could be fuel related. I would start by getting the fuel pressure checked. You may have to search around for someone that has the ability to do so.
  18. This is the same headunit as my Hilux has and my S6 connects perfectly. The passkey is usually 0000.
  19. It actually looks quite tough. The only thing I would personally change is the inserts to black. Glad to hear you are happy with the purchase.
  20. A filter strap around the housing to hold it while undoing the drain plug worked for me. It's tricky but it can be done.
