  1. No. It is simply a cost owning a car out of warranty, factory new car warranties are generally only 3 years. The car is 9 years old, it is to be expected. If you want the luxury of warranty on (almost)everything, you will pretty much need to buy a new car every 3 years(or longer with extended warranty). Once that runs out, unfortunately you are on your own again. Just pay the $230 to have the alternator rebuilt.
  2. If it has never had the plugs done, replace them.

  4. When did it start doing it? Did you have a change of tyres at all?
  5. Police have always enforced this and no doubt will continue to do so, as they see it and are in a situation where they can act. https://www.racq.com.au/cars-and-driving/safety-on-the-road/driving-safely/headlights
  6. Does it still show a code when scanned? Do you have another dealer nearby? Is it still going into limp mode?
  7. If it was polished concrete, then I would say it is the tyres slipping.
  8. Alternators aren't a part of any servicing schedule. They wouldn't have known until you did. They aren't ripping you off regarding the alternator failure, parts fail. You can buy non-genuine alternators far cheaper.
  9. Autobarn sell the Haynes(92752) manuals for around $50. I generally buy one for each car that I buy, they are well worth it.
  10. It is best to stay off full lock as much as possible. The pump and the pressure relief valves will thank you for it. Get it to a steering specialist and have them have a look at it. The pump may be on its way out.
  11. It may have 2 phillips head screws holding it in on the underside. The old ones used to, but I havent tried pulling mine out.
  12. Splitting hairs; but, it is 1.5mm in all states and territories, bar the ACT and VIC, which are 1.6mm.
  13. Has the transmission been serviced recently? Have you check the oil level when running and hot?
  14. The car would still run if one or two teeth were jumped. I would be pulling covers off and checking. I would also have a leak down test conducted. Better to rule out any possible internal damage. It may be something completely random as well, but the over rev is the most concerning thing to me.
  15. Have you had any testing/diagnostics conducted? Have you pulled the plugs? Have you checked the timing chain hasn't skipped a tooth?
  16. This link may be helpful. https://practicalmotoring.com.au/car-advice/where-can-you-legally-mount-led-lightbars/
  17. It will likely come and go with servicing for a short period. There have been mixed results with changing the oil viscosity.
  18. So it hasn't been narrowed down at all? Check belts, bearings on pulleys and the turbo. Is it lacking power? If possible, post a video to Youtube and post the link here.
  19. Who is greasing the vehicle? If it is the dealer, I would dare say it could be the apprentice.
  20. I have heard mixed reviews about these guys. The other go to guys are Bailey's Diesel Group, definitely worth checking out.
  21. Nice to see it out and about. Sad to see it scratched, but that is part of the fun I guess.
