How many KM's have you done?

Mine is a Carribean Blue - 2006 Sportivo Sx6, and i just had the 127,500km service done today

I havent had any major concerns, had the dash rattle fixed in the beginning, and all the other recall fixes done.

It went into the smash repairs the first time ...after a woman backed into me while parked at a service station... a week after i bought it...

And then again after i hit some dropped oil/brakefluid from an accident that hadnt been cleaned up and smashed the front axle/mags/brakes etc...

Its done 3 trips across the Nullabor.. and will have 135,000km by the end of March... Good old 40,000km a year lease vehicle.

Its amazing how these ex Gov or demo cars rack up such high KM's in such a short time. They must use these cars a lot!

Dunno about the mainland, but here in Tassie Gov vehicles rack up a lot of kms because everybody seems to think its small enough to only have 1 or 2 of something for the entire state. So specialists employed by DHHS travel from one end of the state to the other several times a week. And then theres the politicians. Don't get me started on the politicians! They all have to travel to Hobart for parlaiment (fair enough), but how do they travel? 1 to a car! They to get to Hobart from, Burnie, you have to skirt Devonport, slightly bypass Launceston, and the head through the midlands. They could carpool, but why bother? Its all paid for! So, not only do we get cars with high kms when we buy ex gov't, but we're (the taxpayers) also the ones that paid for them to put all thos kms on the car in the first place!

My 2006 Aurion SX6 has done 205,000km so far, and the oil stays as clean as it would have on day one. I've had to replace the rear VVTi oil line and front oil cooler line from rubber to the newer metal replacement, and replace the alternator pulley due to an annoying squeak at 203,000km, but apart from that it still pulls hard and drives like a car with half the amount of km's :)

My car 2011 make (built september 2011) Aurion Touring SE had done only just under 40,000 kms. Bought it new with 0 kms on clock in June 2012. Most cars in 3 years would have hit 60,000 kms but not me. I aim to keep kms as low as I can so I can sell for good profit next year or 2. I have not yet to hit 45,000 kms. Not bad for a car that's 3 years old when owned (technically 4 years old from build date).

All still totally stock except I had to get new tyres (oem tyres wore out so quickly at 30,000kms) in March.

UPDATE: Car has hit 40,000 kms last Thursday evening.

Most cars in 3 years would have hit 60,000 kms but not me. I aim to keep kms as low as I can so I can sell for good profit next year or 2. I have not yet to hit 45,000 kms. Not bad for a car that's 3 years old when owned (technically 4 years old from build date).

All still totally stock except I had to get new tyres (oem tyres wore out so quickly at 30,000kms) in March.

Not sure how you will sell for a profit, but yes you may fetch a bit extra $$ for the lower kms. provided oil has been changed regularly..... I have seen people change oil by kms and not time before. not good!.

i bought my 2011 Touring in May this year for 13k with 134k kms on it. i think its more important to look for a good maintenance record than kms. i test drove a sportivo with 50,000km and it was worse to drive honestly.

my advice would be to get out and drive your car, its just an aurion.

My 2010 SX6 Sportivo has only just clocked over 67,500km. Still running around on the original Michelins that have 4-5mm tread left!

Yes Alex, a Sportivo would seem to drive worse than a Touring around the 'burbs', but you can put up with that jiggly ride when it handles so well on the highway twisty bits. Horses for courses I guess, and as you said, we need to get out and drive our cars.

Actually, I have been driving the Aurion far north and far south this year in effect to get more kms out of it And the darts winter season finished up for me 2 months ago, (tuesday night for south, thursday night for north) so the car won't be driven as much and there's Adelaide next month which I am flying over. It will be driven once i get back.

Yes it has been serviced by toyota scarborough until the warranty finished in January this year (i still can't fathom why when it was supposed to be expired in June this year but i did follow log book servicing anyway). I went to a cheap service centre in late August before I went up to far north. I will not go back cos they over tightened the oil filter, damaging the seal and causing engine oil loss. I had to get it fixed but lucky only cost be just $100 ($20 for part and $80 for oil refill).

Mine has done 196,000km. It's an 07 sportivo sx6. I bought it when it had 40,000 kms on it and have serviced it ever since every 10,000ks myself. Hasn't missed a beat and hasn't had anything break. All I've ever done is routine maintenance. I've done one set of front rotors and the back are still originals. Doesn't use a drop of oil. I think I'll happily get another 200,000k out of it at this rate.

Further update to this thread... my car has hit just under 47,000 kms (probably will happen this weekend) so that means in the time during 14th December to now, I had done only just under 7,000 kms. Yes it had 45,000kms service just done recently 2 months ago. Before you go off, yes I did follow the log book when i had my car under warranty but that has since finished on January 2015 (15,000, 30,000, 45,000 each year since new). The new service centre I went to refused to follow the log book saying my car has too low kms in order to have the 60,000 kms and above and can't justify the cost for doing it when the car has too low kms. They will follow the kms on the odo instead of the log book.

What do you think? It will continue to have serviced at the same place as well as brake checking at the same place. Cos they have capped servicing there. I wouldn't go for ultra tune as I heard horror stories about them.

Our Presara is 99633 KLM's..so about to go the big 100..it is still as smooth as a swiss watch, and a total delight to cruise in..I too use my local Mech..as I trust him, know him well, and he does the work perfectly..I like many others on here are sick of the cowboys out there who don't really give a dam if they rip you off or not..so keep doing what your doing mate..keep the smile on your face

2007 Presara with 186 000kms on the clock. It gets serviced once a year at Toyota and has been mechanically rock solid.

Just took it for a 900km cruise over the weekend with Shell V-power in the tank. The car averaged 8.2L per 100km for the entire trip and was whisper quiet at the end of the journey. At 60 kph the only noise I could hear was road noise and wind, the engine was purring.

Glad it is still as it should be Kombi..our Presara is also sweet as the day it rolled out..such a pleasure on the long runs

I service using good quality oils, every 5,000km or 6 monthly; which ever comes first. 7,500km should be fine.

Obviously there is an extra cost, but the advantages of a clean sludge-free engine outweigh it.

2007 ATX, 213,000km. Nothing has died yet, all just service parts, pads, oil... I have dropped the trans pan, cleaned it and replaced filter then just drained the 2.8 litres that comes out of the drain plug another 2 times. Also added a spin on filter on the hose going to the radiator cooler, I extended the hose so the filter sits in front of the radiator just inside the lower grille opening. This increased the trans capacity by approx 700ml.

Car drives nicely although each time I replace half the trans oil it does shift more smoothly. I am interested to know what normally kills these cars... do head gaskets go, trans failure..?

October 2006 ATX, 180,500 km. Purchased at 166,500 km with lots of engine sludge. Rear VVT-i line rubber hose pin hole leak recently replaced with full metal line. More frustrating job than replacing the trans filter. Just as well, I get so much enjoyment from the extra kw. Watching and waiting for the oil cooler rubber lines to spring a leak.

Based upon a lot of internet searches, oil sludge blocking the oil pickup will kill the engine. So regular oil changes with quality oils. Been told the 2GR-FE engine should be good for 400,000 km before requiring an engine rebuild. Transmission is sensitive to correct oil levels and oil type. Original transmission oil should be changed after 70,000 km when towing/hard driving or after 160,000 km for normal driving conditions. So use high quality full synthetic transmission oil and change the filter.

The service books for the 50-series is 15,000 intervals - surely if Sludge is an issue, Toyota would recommend servicing every 10,000kms?

I've always had my cars serviced every 6-8 months, I tend to drive 15,000kms within that time period, so slightly above average.
