  1. Heaps of room. Make sure the engine is mechanically sound, with no rattles(cold start), smoke or oil leaks. Yes, this appears to be the facelift.
  2. Providing it is less than 10 years since the built date/month. Do not pay a cent. There is definitely an issue.
  3. The pin should only be engaged on start up, hydraulic(oil) control takes over cam timing/positioning during normal operation.
  4. Congratulations, you are our first C-HR member! You get a free...actually we don't have anything to give you...😂 Which trim model did you get?
  5. Have a look through the Members Rides section, you should find a few. You can also use the search function.
  6. Post a photo of the light. Did you do the flush before replacing the pads? Do not let that guy touch your car! That price is insane.
  7. I personally would not risk it. $3K is a lot of money to spend considering there could be substantial crankshaft/conrod bearing wear/damage, potentially resulting in a catastrophic failure at a later date. It's going to be expensive, regardless of the avenue taken.
  8. How low are we talking? Is it only on start up or the whole time at idle?
  9. I think there is some massaging of the inner guard required and some material may need to be removed. A mate of mine has done it, even on full lock, he still occasionally scrubs. http://www.newhilux.net may get you the answer you need faster though.
  10. They should be the same. USDM aftermarket items such as lights bolt straight in.
  11. Quite often the block drains will clog up, a small screw driver can usually be used to unclog them. You will rarely get all of the coolant out though.
  12. 1. In some cases yes. Other cases it was component failure, more specifically the cam gear locating lug and spring. 2. Dashboards still melted. 3. It was still an issue. 4. Intermediate shafts were still knock in later models and also other Toyota models. 5. Yes, eliminated once the steel lines were fitted. 6. One particular failure that came to mind was regularly serviced(more often than log book), with high quality oils. It had less than 250,000km on it. 7. It was still an issue with the Aurion. You can try and justify the and state there were fixes, but the fact remains that they were common issues.
  13. If maintained well, with good oil, sludging should not be an issue. The same can be said for the transmission.
  14. VVTi controller/cam gear failures, dashboards melting, pull left issue, intermediate shaft knocks, oil cooler hose failures, VVTi hose failures, engine failures(more so TRD models), power window switches burning out. Surely, I am forgetting something. As I said, just because your car does not have them, does not mean they don't exist.
  15. Quite a lot actually. You are basing this off your experience. I am basing my opinion off ownership and years of reading countless posts regarding the many issues that plagued the Aurion. I am not saying every car that left the factory had a fault; but there were, and still are many issues with the platform.
  16. A lot of the issues are very common. Sadly; whilst powerful, the Aurion(especially the GSV40) is far from brilliant, regardless of the maintenance aspects.
  17. You will benefit more from a rear sway bar.
  18. That's exactly where I was going next. Glad to see it is a simple fix.
  19. Is it lacking power? Air wouldn't be getting sucked in under boost. It would be blowing out.
  20. Good to see it back out there putting it to the big boys.
  21. Tried http://www.amayama.com? That's if if you want new. Very expensive though.
