What did you do to your car today?

Recommended Posts

After a week or so of planning with a mate who had the appropriate skills and a quick phone call to another mate who had the appropriate equipment - the problem was resolved. Now that the filter was sticking out of the bonnet, I need to ensure that it was adequately and securely covered so as to avoid any problems with the boys in blue - with a WRX bonnet scoop... At the end of it all a couple of celebratory rums were had, and my mate and I appreciated a job well done.

Next on the list are a set of universal coil overs to lower it, front mounted spot lights, and sanding down and respraying the bottom section of the car to give it a yellow and black 2 tone effect... Will keep you all updated :)

Just removed the Tail-light from the ZRE, was quite a challenge as it was my first attempt. Pulled all of the interior trim out as it was difficult to access the plastic clips. I finally got the light out and started draining the copious amounts of water. I actually collected the water and measured 450ml of water. I didn't want to have to unseal it and re-seal it, so I just let the sun evaporate as much as possible, then I put the tail light back in place. Stupid car not being under warranty.

Midnight mechanics were back in business tonight fitting some shiny new RDA slotted front rotors. Bye-bye warped rotor vibration, hello barely noticable increase in braking performance! :yahoo:

I ****** my rim driving into the work car park.

It is around 8cm and on the Chrome Lip. Picture attached.

Someone is going to pay for it with blood, **** assholes make the entrance so narrow.

whilst waiting for bits and pieces for the corolla to arrive I test fitted some universal coilovers on the sherpa and the new watanabe (knock offs) that I bought for it... Uber annoyed because the wheel studs are too short so now I have to find a set of WRX wheel studs to accommodate my wheels... :(

Today I'm hoping to have them cleaned and either painted or ready to be painted tomorrow... and hopefully I'll find a set of wheel studs somewhere today - which would be nice...

also purchased a set of Rays super expensive wheel nuts on eBay for $12.00... hahaha

This is not 'What I did to my car today' but more 'what I got for m car today'

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1976-toyota-celica-liftback-gt-grille-/220813191970?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item33697deb22

I feel a bit bad for the guy selling but I did put in a stating bid of $120.00. He quoted me just under $50.00 postage and has said he will send it as soon as the PayPal transfer clears.

I also bid $4000.00 on a project 28 near Ipswich but the guy who got it must have really wanted it. I believe it had been smashed on the passenger side front which made the hood alignment out by about 15mm on the left side. But with the 18R-G and a rust free body I am sure it wont be a real problem to get back on the road.

If it was anyone here congrats on the great buy.

P.S. And how far were you prepared to go???
